Crave These #Cupcakes!

Cupcakes. It seems the trend has outlived ‘fad’ status. Yay! They’re here to stay! I was rooting for cupcakes all along, and now you can find delicious cupcakes all over the place. Here’s a round up of my fave cupcake places in and around the GTA – bon apetit!

The Cupcake Shoppe

It’s been around for almost a decade and they’ve been making cupcakes since before it became the “cool” thing to eat. They offer a total of 28 nut-free flavours!! This is the place you go for a mid-afternoon cupcake with a friend, pick up a dozen for a dinner party or pick up a single on your way home from a rough day at work. The popular cupcake shop, known for its Yonge & Eg address, recently made its way to the ‘burbs! The Cupcake Shoppe just opened a location at 9340 Bathurst Street in Vaughan, where they have a specialty “Berry White” flavour exclusive to this location! As a Vaughan girl myself, I just had to check it out…

Le Dolci

This place offers much more than just cupcakes. In addition to tasty cupcakes, Il Dolci extends their cupcake offerings to cupcake decorating classes and other tutorials. This is a great idea for parties, an afternoon with a friend, or even a test-drive for our own personal hobby! And why not indulge in a cupcake or two, or a dozen while you’re at it?

Baking Buddies

Baking Buddies is 2 parts BFFs, 3 part delicious and 100% creative. This cupcake adventure began when two best friends decided to share their passion for baking and cake decorating. Born out of a basement kitchen, Baking Buddies is quickly making a name for itself in Vaughan, with cupcakes and cakes flying out the door dozens at a time. They offer killer cupcakes and out of this world cakes. They can basically recreate or think up any design you have in mind. Baking Buddies cupcakes and custom cakes are perfect for any occasion. Cupcakes of Westdale Village

My cupcake obsession began right here at Cupcakes of Westdale Village while I was living in Hamilton for school. My roommates and I would gift these cupcakes to each other (and ourselves) for every occasion (sometimes we made up reasons to ‘celebrate’ just to indulge in these cupcakes)! These are the simple, but so darn delicious cupcakes – plain cake flavours, sometimes with a filling, and topped with a delicious butter cream, which comes in various flavours to complement the cake. If you’re ever in the neighbourhood, make a point of visiting Cupcakes. Oh and stock up – you can freeze these cupcakes and thaw them out for future indulgence…they hold their deliciousness, I promise!
