In Los Angeles, California, you never have to worry about the shortage of sunny days – summer never says goodbye! If you live in the City of Angels or are here on vacation, be sure to get your date on with your beau (or that guy that you swear to your friends that you’re “just friends” with). Here are three fun date ideas in beautiful L.A. that won’t break the bank.

If you’re both not a regular bikers, the ride from Venice Beach to Santa Monica Beach is a relatively quick (~3 miles / 5 kilometers) but ridiculously scenic one. You’ll experience the quirkiness of Venice’s boardwalk and Santa Monica’s famed pier, without having to brave the L.A. traffic. Bike rentals can be made from the Venice Beach Station or the Santa Monica Bike Center.

Picnic at the Griffith Observatory

Pack up a meal and blanket, picnic-style, and head up to the Griffith Observatory – one of the best viewing points over the City of Los Angeles. If you and your guy are into astronomy, they’ve got a pretty nifty planetarium where you can peruse the stars, galaxies, and universe. There’s an open, lush green area for you to enjoy your food, and if you’re feeling extra romantic, head there at sundown for a killer view and dinner picnic, instead. Bonus: if you look extra hard, you can see the iconic Hollywood sign in the distance.

Peruse the Rose Bowl Flea Market

Hustling and bustling with vendors, shoppers, and excitement, you and your date won’t ever be bored. You’ll find anything here, from little handmade trinkets to vintage clothing and furniture items – perfect for finding some couples’ keepsakes.
